TRAVELING INTO MEXICO

U.S. will have
to show their driver’s license as proof of identity, along with proof of
citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate,
or a passport. This is all part of the WHTI (Western Hemisphere Travel
Initiative), but the passport requirement has not been fully implemented
for now. Children age 18 and under will be able to enter with proof of
citizenship. Verbal claims of citizenship and identity alone will not be
sufficient to establish identity and citizenship for entry into the
United States.The
passport requirement for travelers entering the U.S. is scheduled to be
implemented at least by summer of 2009.
